Adoptions
Adopting a Forever Friend from Equine WellBeing Rescue, Inc.
At Equine WellBeing Rescue, Inc., we cherish every opportunity to find forever homes for our horses, donkeys, and minis. Whenever these beautiful creatures are ready for adoption, we spread the joy far and wide through our blog, Facebook, and email network, inviting animal lovers to become part of our extended family.
Interested in adopting? Here’s how our heartwarming journey begins:
1. Adoption Application: Start by filling out a detailed application. It's the first step in making sure you and your potential new companion are a perfect match.
2. Interview Process: A friendly chat allows us to get to know you better and understand your expectations, ensuring a harmonious fit for both you and the animal.
3. Adoption Contract: Upon approval, we'll sign an adoption contract together. This agreement not only prioritizes the animal’s welfare by giving us the first right of refusal should you ever need to rehome them but also offers you the peace of mind to return the animal to us for any reason. Our priority is their lifelong happiness and safety; hence, our animals are not to be flipped, sold, given away, or loaned out.
4. Reference Checks: We meticulously check references as part of our commitment to the wellbeing of our equines.
Understanding the social nature of equines, we ensure each adopted animal goes to a home with a companion equine, fulfilling their need for friendship and belonging.
Occasionally, we assist in networking equines for others. In such cases, we’re happy to share information and facilitate direct communication with the owner, always ready to lend our support.
Interested in making a lifelong friend or wish to discuss rehoming your equine with us? Contact us today to start a conversation that could lead to wonderful new beginnings.

EMERGENCY EQUINE FOOD FUND
No matter how much people plan, sometimes a natural disaster or crisis happens, and all our planning simply isn't enough. In an effort to help families in need during this national crisis, where the need for feed and hay assistance will be greater than usual, we have established our Emergency Equine Food Fund as a safety net.
Assistance is available in areas of Arizona. Not everyone will qualify. You must fill out an application stating your reason for needing this one-time assistance with hay and/or feed; a phone interview will be conducted, and possibly a site visit. A review committee will make the determination, and the hay/feed will be purchased for the recipient.
Sadly, not everyone will qualify as funds are limited and are for the most urgent needs. If yours is more than a short-term situation, you may need to consider selling or re-homing your equine, or finding additional sources to help provide for them. We don't have deep pockets but want to help if we can.
This is a short-term, one-time assistance grant based on emergency need for equines in Arizona.
To apply, you can contact us at 760-703-4860, and if possible, we can take an application over the phone.
We are a 100% volunteer organization, so please be patient as our volunteers help as quickly as they can, but we are under the same restrictions during this national emergency.
This Equine Emergency Food Fund is in honor of Hope, pictured below, who was the inspiration to start this safety net after she and her mom were starved to death because the family where they resided did not feed them enough. Hope died after being at the rescue only a few hours, unable to survive the starvation; her mom died the night before we were asked to step in and help Hope. May Hope and her mom run the meadows of heaven, pain and hunger-free.
A huge thank you to the Doris Day Animal Foundation for their generous grant!
